When is this thing?
August 21, 22 and 23, 2009, Friday evening through Sunday midday … on gorgeous Highland Lake, North Carolina (near Asheville).
Why should I go?
Because stuckified patterns — and stuckification in general — result in terror, paralysis, and Not Moving Forward. Oh, and repeating the same old, tired mistakes when you do end up moving forward? Argh.
Because if we can (compassionately, patiently and consciously) zap some big chunks of stuck — and I’m 100% convinced we can — you can go back to your life and the stuff you’re working on without getting bogged down in the gunk again.
Which is huge.
Because I’m only doing four live teaching events this year. And working on stuff in person is the most powerful way to have serious results. And this one is by far the least expensive so you should really do it. :-)
What do I need to know about this thing??
- It’s not going to be fun. Well, maybe a little. I’m not saying we’re not going to goof off some (or even a lot) because of course we will. Just that it’s going to be INTENSE.
- Physical practice. Expect it. You don’t have to be in great shape. You don’t have to be experienced in Dance of Shiva or even to have done it before. But expect to use your body a lot.We’ll take breaks. We won’t work you TOO hard. And the mental challenge will be much harder than the physical one. But yeah, we’ll definitely be using your body to change your brain.
- Bring a notebook. Or three. We’re going to cover a lot of important theoretical material and go deep into how you’re going to apply it to the rest of your life. So you’ll probably want to take a lot of notes.
- Transformation: it messes with your head. You think you want that thing causing your stuck to get taken care of, but things can be really different once your old stuck patterns are out of the way. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
But I’m worried about [fill in the blank...]
No kidding. Worry is normal. It’s also a sign that you’re not stupid. I approve. Because you kind of should be worried. This is some crazy stuff.

And then if you’re still worried, write and ask me. I’ll tell you if your worry is reasonable and you should actually totally skip this thing, or reassure you if necessary.
FAQ — Havi’s Wacky Workshop
What should I weeeeeeeaaaaaaar?
You want something that’s comfortable enough to give you a range of movement, but other than that it doesn’t really matter.
I’ll probably be wearing a loose dress or a skirt and t-shirt over loose pants. Sweats are fine. Casual clothing that lets you move and maybe sweat a little is fine.
What do I need to bring?
We will be giving you a packing list, but basically as long as you have comfortable clothes, a water bottle and pen and paper, you’re good to go.
What if I’m horribly uncoordinated?
Good! Brain training is good for everyone. The less coordinated you are, the easier it will be to get results.
What if I have no experience in any of this?
Good again! Actually, I’ve designed the entire curriculum so that people at a variety of levels will be able to get what they need from it.
But it’s totally intended to be a good fit for people who have no idea what’s going on. Ideally, most of the time none of us will have any idea what’s going on. :-)
Will I have to __________?
Probably not. Just kidding. Let’s see.
There may be yawning. There may be wackiness. But you’ll never have to do something that’s really uncomfortable for you. That’s not what this is about.
I’ll never put you on the spot or make you answer awkward questions or anything. We want this space to feel safe and supportive, especially given the hard work we’re doing.
What kind of stuff are we going to be covering?
Dissolving stucknesses and rewriting habits. Figuring out what needs to happen next and what’s getting in the way. And what to do about it.
Facilitating moments of “Bing!” Working through blocks. Accessing crazy-deep states of calm and confidence — and learning how to call on them when you need them.
And of course, wacky yoga brain-training in the form of Dance of Shiva.
Do I need the Dance of Shiva Starter Kit?
It would probably help… but no, it’s not the end of the world if you haven’t gotten started with it yet. I wouldn’t worry. I mean, I would… but just not about that.
What’s the schedule like?
Here’s the basic outline.
- Friday evening: class from 7:00-9:30 PM
- Saturday: class from 9:30 AM -1:00 PM and 3:00 PM -6:00 PM. Then whoever wants can join Havi and Selma for dinner at one of the properties’ restaurants. Or over takeout.
- Sunday: class from 9:00 AM -12:30 PM
- There will also be optional early Sun Salutations classes Saturday and Sunday mornings for the masochists among us, but no pressure. : )
And in general, plenty of hanging out and relaxing with my duck and me in the most beautiful place ever. Right? I know!
Where do I sleep and stuff?
The onsite options have all been snapped up already, but you have two other options available.
The super inexpensive option is to take advantage of on-site camping. You’ll have access to the kitchen and bathrooms in the Sanctuary in the Pines, but will need a tent and sleeping bag.
If you want a bit more luxury or are sharing with a friend, there are some lovely cabins and rooms adjoining the premises that we can hook you up with after you sign up.
How big is this thing?
Okay, this part is important.
There’s only room for 19 PEOPLE.
Obviously, I don’t want to push you in any way, because there’s nothing more annoying then being poked at to do something. It’s just that — if this is for you — it would be awful if we ended up not having room for you.
My sense is that this is going to fill up pretty fast (probably before the end of the early bird period). So if you’re feeling all tingly and ooooooh-ish, I’d probably grab that spot now.

A few words about the cost.
I know that when money is tight it’s really really hard to justify spending it on things that seem like fun. The thing is that even one huge breakthrough (and you’ll get so much more than just that) can change everything in your life.
I’ve done everything I can to keep the price as low as possible. People pay $2500 to spend an afternoon learning with me. This is an entire weekend for a fraction of that. So, let’s use this time to get some epiphanies that will clear out some of your money stucknesses.

p.s. I know the stucknesses are saying that nothing ever works. Here’s the thing. This work is so much more powerful in person than by phone or working with the Starter Kit. I can’t even tell you what a big deal this is.
