Shiva Nata: the Dance of Shiva

Shiva Nata is brain training that kind of looks like martial arts, and acts like drugs-that-make-you-smart-and-hot.
It uses movement patterns to generate new neural connections and huge understandings that let you rewrite your patterns.
Sometimes we hate it for being so damn hard – but we get over that because Shiva Nata makes us graceful, coordinated and awesome. And because of the hot, buttered epiphanies.

Dust off the DVD! Free class. June 30th.

It’s about that time again.

Because twice a year I teach a class (by phone) where I answer everyone’s Dance of Shiva questions.

This class is free to everyone who owns the Starter Kit and you can totally take it as many times as you like.

What kinds of questions?

Oh, let’s see. Theory, practice, random stuff you wonder about. It’s all good.

Surprise me. :)

Boring questions are welcome. Wacky and bizarre questions are welcome. It really doesn’t matter. My duck and I will do our best to help you out.

Details?

Here they are.

TUESDAY JUNE 30, 2009 at 12:00 PM Pacific

You can use the time zone converter to figure out what time that is for you.

And in case you have questions now …

So yeah, you’ll probably want paper and something to write with.

You don’t have to participate if you don’t want to. If you’re more comfortable listening in than talking, that’s fine.

If you aren’t already signed up, you can sign up here.

And maybe I’ll get to talk to you next Tuesday!

  1. Havi, thank you for helping to bring Shiva Nata to the broader world. I can’t wait until I can drop the money on the Starter Kit. I’ve been enthusiastic about Shiva Nata since I found out about it on The Fluent Self, but I haven’t really had the discretionary income lately to buy the kit. Fortunately, it looks like I’m going to be able to set aside the money soon – I hope it’s in time that I can take advantage of the teleclass. Even though I won’t have much experience with Shiva Nata, I’d really value listening in and hearing what you and other people have to say about it.

Hey Chris! I won’t tell anyone if you show up to the class before you have the DVD in your hands. I’ll consider you a Shivanaut-in-progress … because you totally are. :)

  3. Thank you, Havi. I appreciate your generosity. :) I’ll be there with bells on!

Havi, will you record the class? Due to the time difference, I may not be able to attend and would love to be able to listen to the recording later. The class comes at the perfect time for me because I’m stuck with my practice and feel very frustrated about it. If you will be recording, could I send in my question and hope that you have time to respond?

Hi Natalia. Yes, we will record and send out the mp3.

Do you want to leave your question here and I’ll make sure to answer it? Otherwise, just email it in and Marissa will give it to me for the call!

Sorry you’re feeling stuckified — that’s no fun! I hope we can unglue some of that for you soon.

  6. Seriously?! Something happens just twice a year, and I manage to find out about it in time to attend?!

My DVD is only now en route to me but already the hot-buttered epiphanies are coming: 1) I don’t have to be “perfectly ready” to say YES to great opportunities, and 2) I make a move and the Universe responds beautifully!

    Can’t wait!

OK, Havi, here’s what I’d like to ask:

I’m stuck on steps 17 and 18 of the DVD (H arms, legs 1st seq., V arms, legs 2nd seq., fast speed). They don’t just feel challenging, they feel downright impossible. I don’t just feel that I’m just getting it wrong, I feel that I am not following *at all*. The same sequences on slow speed are too easy and boring. I even tried the fast sequence on half the speed (the only other speed my DVD player permits) and I can follow without much difficulty. But at the regular (i.e. fast) speed, no way! I’m very frustrated. I decided to continue with the rest of the programme but I feel disheartened. Also, I would like to know what the best approach for such a problem is because I will likely get stuck again at some point in the future.

Along the same lines: I’m trying to find a good balance between moderately difficult and impossibly hard. I understand that without challenging myself considerably, I should not expect any epiphanies. How do I know that I’m getting the balance more or less right? For instance, if I practice for 10 minutes without feeling exhausted, does this mean I wasn’t pushing myself hard enough?

Final question: Got any plans for Shiva seminars in Europe? I’d love to attend.

@Natalia – oh, these are lovely questions. I will definitely cover these in the call for you. Thank you!

And I will be in Berlin in September! My programs guy is still ironing out the exact times in the different locations but there will be at least six different classes there that I know of. :)

    @Sandra – wow.

What completely perfect timing. I love it. Also, I was reading about you on your website and oh boy! I like you. So yay, this is fun and am very glad that you are a new Shivanaut. Lovely!

  9. Havi, thank you again for allowing me to sign up. I’ve ordered the starter kit and started reading through the PDF reports, and I can’t wait to be a Real Live Shivanaut!

Berlin in September? Sounds fabulous. I’ll do my best to be there.

    Hi, Havi!

How do we obtain the recording? I phoned in late and there was a lot of static :(

    Thanks a lot ^_^

Hi Natalia, everyone will get a link to the mp3 by email once it’s been edited! Thanks!

  13. I *so* wanted to attend that class, but I happened to be on a plane at that moment. I’m glad I’ve read this post and the comments, though, because I’m exactly where Natalia is, and experiencing the same thing with my practice. Now I know I must listen to that recording as soon as possible, and not do the old “I’ll get to it one day, when I have some time…”
Thank you, Natalia, for asking this question! The answer will be really helpful to me.
