Shiva Nata: the Dance of Shiva

Shiva Nata is brain training that kind of looks like martial arts, and acts like drugs-that-make-you-smart-and-hot.
It uses movement patterns to generate new neural connections and huge understandings that let you rewrite your patterns.
Sometimes we hate it for being so damn hard – but we get over that because Shiva Nata makes us graceful, coordinated and awesome. And because of the hot, buttered epiphanies.

A question about Jim Jarmusch? I am lost!

Just got a question from a reader named Claudia …

And I haven’t the foggiest notion of how to answer this.

Other than renting the film in question …

So I’m putting this out to you guys. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?*

*See? I have seen movies. On occasion. Okay, fine. I am completely culturally inept. But curious.

Havi,
Just watched Jim Jarmusch’s “Limits of Control”.

Question: Is this, what the artist-killer is practicing a form of Shiva Nata??? It would explain the magic he’s able to do…

Okay, so my initial guess is … hmmm, probably not. Just because that would surprise me to no end.

But? I honestly don’t know.

Who wants to help us out here?

  1. Lynn Crymble

I so want to see this movie now. I looked it up and watched the trailer and here’s where the Shiva Nata thing sort of popped up – one of the lines in the movie:
“Sometimes the reflection is far more present than the thing being reflected.”
And there is a millisecond clip where a woman is dancing but can’t tell what it is exactly.
The trailer is here http://bit.ly/yXLge if you want to have a looksee.

  2. I watched the trailer Lynn linked to, and the assassin is doing Tai Chi at one point–maybe that is what Claudia saw?

  3. Hmmm… I’m not much into TaiChi, but it didn’t look like it to me – but maybe I’m wrong….it definitely is a slow and concentrated movement he does with his arms only. But he does way more than what you can see in the trailor. Would be so curious what one of you would suggest after having seen the film. Let me know please, if you do so!!
